The Beach: The 7-block waterfront contains a public fishing pier and half-mile long boardwalk with accompanying bike path. The boardwalk is dotted with benches for residents and visitors to linger and look out onto the bay.
Beach Trolley:
Why not let us do the driving for you? From May to October, the
Trolley travels every 2 hours round trip, giving you an opportunity to
visit restaurants, attend community events, shop to your heart's
content, or just sight see the jewels of the beach communities of
Chesapeake Beach, North Beach, Deale, and Dunkirk.
Bayside History Museum: Peruse through the museum located at the historic Charlie Mead House (9006 Dayton Ave.) and discover the rich history of North Beach, due to celebrate the 100th anniversary of its founding in 2010!
Bird-watching: North Beach is recognized as one of the most pristine birding locations on the eastern seaboard. North Beach also encompasses a wildlife refuge in its tidal marshlands and hosts fantastic seasonal migrations.
Friday Farmers Market and Cruise-in: On Friday nights from May to October, 5th Street (between Bay and Chesapeake) is transformed into an open air market offering the bounty of fresh fruits and vegetables, baked goods, plants, and wines all from Calvert County. Stroll through the market as you enjoy wine tastings and free entertainment. Don't forget to catch the classic cars along Bay Ave at the cruise in!
Movies on the Beach: Watch family-friendly movies with the sand between your toes. The Town of North Beach erects its giant 40-foot screen with surround sound and shows classic movies all summer (weather permitting.) All shows are free and begin at dusk. Bring your own chairs and / or blankets. Concessions will be available as well.
